dieci trialling electric cars

26.04.2022

Home pizza delivery minus the noise and exhaust emissions! We already use electric scooters at dieci, and now our new branch in Solothurn is trialling electric cars as well.

dieci no longer uses its renowned black Fiat Panda cars for pizza and pasta deliveries in the Solothurn area, having replaced them with a mix of Renault Twingo electric vehicles (EVs) and ETRIX Silence Scooters – a move long in the planning at dieci.

Trial run for gradual replacement of existing delivery vehicles

The EVs in service at the newly opened branch in Solothurn are being trialled ahead of a gradual switch to electromobility, enabling dieci to gain valuable experience of EV infrastructure and power consumption. The long-term goal is to have a fleet comprising mostly EVs, the top priority being to replace withdrawn cars with EVs.

E-mobility as part of sustainability strategy

The electrification of the dieci delivery fleet is an important part of our efforts to make dieci as sustainable as possible – a goal we have been pursuing for some time. It’s why we actively advocate climate and environment protection in many areas; dieci has been climate-neutral since 2021, and is committed to conserving resources when choosing packaging materials and recipe ingredients.
