Less is more when it comes to the taste

Even though our pizzas are really impressive looking, that is not enough for dieci. Of course, your eyes take in what you eat. Nevertheless, we believe one thing is certain: good flavour has to be inherent. This is why we check every ingredient carefully, and many things are prepared in-house, from tomato sauce and pizza dough to the perfect slice of ham.

We take a close look at how and, in particular, where our vegetables were grown, harvested and processed. Regional produce and authenticity are important, especially when it comes to local specialities such as our San Daniele prosciutto.

We are also interested in the climate in which the fruits thrive, and whether the people who cultivate them go to work every morning with the same passion as we do. All of this ultimately affects the quality and aroma of a dieci pizza.

What is also vital to remember is that the product is the “hero”. Sun-ripened vegetables that are processed with great care do not require any colouring or flavour enhancers. This is why we are happy to do without those. We adhere to our strict criteria when selecting and processing our products. For this reason alone, we have a person at dieci who ensures that the highest quality standards are met and regularly checked.

An artichoke that is conquering the whole of Europe

Have you ever been unlucky enough to bite into a tough, fibrous artichoke leaf, for instance? You will be spared that experience with us. The “Carciofi Pugliese” is spicy, aromatic and melts softly in the mouth. Straight after harvesting, the flower heads are stored in a cool place and packaged fresh. Our Apulian artichoke has even made it into the EU ranking for special quality products. And it is also to be found on our Giardino, Ortolana and Quattro Stagioni pizzas.

Where olives are still processed by hand

Our olives are also well-known internationally. In the mild climate of Abruzzo, the ripe fruits are processed by hand with no chemical additives by our supplier Pitturi, a second-generation family business. Thanks to their many vital substances and antioxidants, dieci olives are recommended as a healthy extra on every pizza. Simply click on “Enhance pizza” in the shop and select olives. Some of our succulent salads also contain plenty of them.

These tomatoes are the mainstay

This is not a recommendation but tomatoes are more or less essential to any pizza, whether as a sauce, sliced, as a paste or chopped up. But we do not allow ourselves to be distracted by the seductive colour here. With few seeds, plenty of flesh and a sweet taste: the Roma “Pomodori Pelati” tomato charmed us with its intrinsic values.

With no tomato sauce at all, but with fine mozzarella, our two “Bianca” pizzas will win you over. And have you already tried these? Smoked Bömlo salmon with capers or salsiccia with cime di rapa add just the right emphasis.

Topping everything: our San Daniele prosciutto

Artichokes, olives and tomatoes – we believe these would be enough for a perfect pizza. But we would not be dieci if we were unable to top that. How about a few slices of our smoky San Daniele ham? It is made from Italian breeding pig haunches, which are known for their high whey content and are therefore particularly soft and creamy.

The haunches are seasoned fresh with sea salt from Margherita di Savoia in Apulia and are left to mature for up to four years. Month after month, the flavours improve and the ham retains its tenderness. But don’t worry, you don’t have to wait that long to try our legendary “dieci” pizza with San Daniele and mascarpone! It is just one click away.
