Environmentally-compatible packaging

Disposable packaging is a major topic, and rightly so. It is central to the dieci delivery business of course. Therefore, more care is being taken to select packaging according to the principle of sustainability. You can find out here what dieci packaging consists of and all about its environmentally-friendly disposal:

Pizza box

From Switzerland of course and recyclable.

The greatest challenge for a quick delivery service is to deliver the pizza still warm and crispy. We are able to do this thanks to a pizza box made of Swiss cardboard and an odour-neutral glassine paper insert for optimised heat circulation.

In the manufacturing of pizza boxes, a great deal of importance is placed on the responsible handling of resources: the energy supply is therefore supported by the use of geothermal heating and photovoltaic systems, and there is investment in low-emission transportation vehicles. When it comes to journey planning, care is taken to select the shortest possible delivery routes and maximise the loading capacities.

Boxes free of food residues can be disposed of in the cardboard collection, and the glassine paper insert goes into paper recycling.

Salad packaging

Salad pots are produced from pure pulp. The cardboard is protected from moisture on the inside with a biopolymer foil coated with PLA. The transparent lid also consists of PLA.

The salad pots and the lids can also go in the normal household waste.

What is PLA?

PLA = polyactic acid looks like plastic but is not. It is derived from natural and renewable raw materials, such as maize starch.

The raw material is transparent, printable and suitable for foodstuffs but it is not heat-resistant.

Salad sauce packaging

The production of this packaging is 100% CO₂-neutral, using renewable raw materials, and it can be disposed of in the standard household waste.

Ice cream cartons

dieci ice cream cartons are also made of cardboard and PLA, and thus renewable raw materials. Their production and use create a very small CO₂ footprint.

Knives, forks and spoons

dieci knives, forks and spoons are manufactured from CPLA, a modified PLA, and are therefore also made from renewable raw materials.

The little bag for the knives, forks and spoons is produced using vegetable oil and vegetable starch – free of plastic, climate-friendly and compostable.

The knives, forks and spoons can be disposed of in the normal household rubbish, and the little bag in the green waste.
